perennial: for winds, strings, guitar, and drums

perennial is a four-movement work with an interlude that is scored for violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, alto flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, electric guitar, and drum set. This genre-elusive piece centers around perpetual cycles of growth and decay and explores verdant textures, wandering harmonies, and continuous pulse, all of which lead to inevitable disintegration. The work is divided into four movements, with a brief interlude:i. overwinter ii. seedling : chrysalis - interlude - iii. braiding waters iv. from the soil
