The work is built on the hypothesis that the current copyright law is inefficient to tackle the modern day’s piracy. This is because of the various shortfalls noted in the act. The shortfalls are noted by looking at the Copyright and Neighbouring Right Act. The analyses are also done by looking at the other jurisdictions laws especially the US and UK laws on copyright. The shortfalls are noted apart for the fact that Tanzania is a member of various regional and multilateral frameworks on copyright.
