Tomato farming as an alternative source of income case study of Bukanga hamlet in Musoma Municipality
Abstract
dc:description.abstractParticipatory needs assessment was conducted in Bukanga ward in Musoma municipality in order to determine needs, opprtunities and challenges facing the community. Participatory research methods were employed. These included focus group discussion, observation, questionnaire, and in depth interview. Low income high and un employment rate were the main findings of research. Low income was the major stress and formed an area of intervention. The communities came up with opportunities which could help them to solve stresses. Tomato farming was an alternative source of income which was opted by the majority.
