The study focused on methodological competencies of teachers and their role in improving instructional processes; teachers‟ motivational competencies improve students‟ performance; and teachers‟ instructional process competencies and its effect on teaching and learning. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches using questionnaires, interviews and observations. The population of the study comprised all Chief school inspector, Head teachers, ward education coordinators, Teachers and District education officer who were actively involved in this study. The findings indicated that teachers were competent in using the current learner-centered teaching methodologies. They were also very motivated in teaching. The study therefore recommended in order motivate primary school teachers it is very essential to pay attention to what they are doing, listen to what they say, and acknowledge their efforts. These do not need money, but if all the educational stakeholders would appreciate and talk about the good work that the primary school teachers are doing, it would boost their morale and do even better.
