The main objective of the study was to assess the role of stakeholders‟ participation in promoting sustainability of donor funded project. A cross sectional descriptive research design was used with a sample size of 70 stakeholders. Being a qualitative study heavily influenced by the interpretivist philosophy, data were analyzed through content analysis and SPSS version 16.0. The study found that in order for stakeholders‟ participation to be effective in promoting sustainability of donor funded projects it should be initiated from the beginning of the project. The study also found that the major role of stakeholders‟ participation in donor funded projects was mainly in the form of Resource mobilization, Collaboration and partnership, Material contribution, and citizen control.
