The specific objectives were to assess youth participation in Conceptualization of Projects,to investigate youth involvement in decision making process of projects, and assess youth participation in project implementation. A descriptive cross-section research design (both qualitative and quantitative) methods was adapted to collects and analyze both primary and secondary data from respondents. Data was collected from 80 respondents using structural questionnaire and semi-structural interviews. The key findings revealed that Youth are not participating neither involved in development projects as majority 46(63.9%) of respondents said that youth are not participating in conceptualization of projects, on the other hand majority 43(59.7%) of respondents said that youth are not involved in decision making process of projects and lastly majority 40(56%) of respondents also said that youth are not participating in project implementation. Conclusively, youth participation in development projects is very low. Therefore, there is a need for different stakeholders who are parents, Community, CBOs, NGOs FBOs community Development officers and Social Workers and youth themselves to actively engage in advocacy and lobbying, public sensitization and further research to come out with practical solution that will give room for youth participation, hence contribute to development of the entire nation.","abstract_html":"The study aimed at assessing youth participation in agriculture and water development projects in Mkinga District.
