The community needs assessment survey was designed to collect three specific sets of data or information from respondents, to identify and rank the unique needs of KunduchWard. The Overall Objective of the project is to build a foundation of knowledge to prioritize the community needs. With the limited time available the questionnaire was limited to 50 respondents selected randomly from sub-Sub-ward/Mtaa inclusive of both gender and age groups. The tools used to gather information included household questionnaires, focus group discussions, interviewing Officials at District and Sub-ward/Mtaalevels. The survey findings revealed that, by using pair wise ranking CED Student and JiweGumu and Community come up with the decision of poultry farming project. This project sets out to review the contribution of poultry to smallholder livelihoods economically, as well as socially and culturally – and to smallholder household food security. The theoretical review details various ideas on the poverty concepts while the empirical brings out the documented practical experience.The implementation of the project was based on community needs assessment which was carried out during the participatory assessment process. This involved understanding of their income generating activities of the community members. Monitoring and evaluation are linked together since monitoring sets benchmarks for evaluation.This summarises on what have been done by the JiweGumu women group on the implementation of the poultry farming project in kunduchiMtongani communities.
