Over 8000 identifiable conodont elements were recovered from 115 samples collected from the Viola Group at a single locality . The stratigraphic ranges of the conodonts are used to graphically correlate the Viola Group of the Arbuckle Anticline with the Ordovician Composite Standard Section of North America. The correlation shows the probable age of the lower 2.5 m of the studied section to be middle Shermanian. The remainder of the section could be all or part of late Shermanian to middle Maysvillian in age.
