Photoproduction of K*+¿¿/¿¿0 and K0¿¿+ from the Proton Using CLAS at Jefferson Lab
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis dissertation presents measurements of the differential and total cross sections of the photoproduction ¿¿ + p → K*+ + ¿¿ and ¿¿ + p → K*+ + ¿¿0 using the CLAS g11a data collected at experimental Hall-B, Jefferson Lab. These measurements are the world’s first high statistics measurements of K*+¿¿ and K*+¿¿0 photoproduction. The cross section covers the incident photon energy range from 1.75 GeV to 3.85 GeV for K*+¿¿ and from 1.85 GeV to 3.75 GeV for K*+¿¿0 in the CLAS lab frame, Also, the ¿¿ recoil polarization of the K*+¿¿ reaction channel is measured. The differential cross sections of ¿¿ + p → K0 + ¿¿+ were measured as a calibration reaction and those results are compared with the previous CLAS, SAPHIR and CBELSA measurements. The K*+¿¿ recoil polarization was calibrated by checking the K+¿¿ polarization and comparing with previous CLAS measurements.
