Abstract
dc:descriptionA new take on the development and nature of Russian nationhood through an analysis of Petrine historiography from the earlier nineteenth century to the mid twentieth century. The thesis specifically attempts to develop a connection between imperial and Stalinist discourses concerning Russian nationhood and national identity.
