Fluid intelligence, working memory capacity, trait anxiety, self-esteem, and behavioral activation system/Behavioral activation system sensitivity were found to have differential patterns predicting reactivity to negative feedback, gaze behavior toward valenced – self- referential word pairs, and self-esteem following the word viewing task. Gaze behavior was found to interact with fluid intelligence and to interact with post-feedback self- esteem in predicting self-esteem after word viewing.
