NOVEL PARALLEL TRANSMIT SYSTEMS FOR MRI APPLICATIONS
Abstract
dc:descriptionIn this work a new RF transmitter design is presented for MRI parallel transmissionapplications. Benchtop measurements and imaging experiments were performed withdifferent prototypes to prove system’s performance and potential advantages versus asystem based on conventional MRI RF hardware. The degrees of freedom of theimplemented parallel transmission system were exploited to reduce RF induced heatingin long conductors in an interventional MRI setup. Finally, operation of a high-fieldprototype was proved in a 7 T small animal scanner.
