A reading of Nietzsche's Metaethics

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This dissertation offers a reading of Nietzsche's metaethics, and seeks to defend it against competing readings. It argues that Nietzsche held an error theory about moral value, but also that his metaethical stance with regards to other types of value is harder to characterize. A number of rival interpretations are also considered and rejected.
