Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of nanowires and films by electrodeposition
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this work, AAO template have been used for the fabrication of metallic nanowires. Single crystalline Ni, Co, and Fe wires have been successfully fabricated and the mechanisms of the single crystalline wire growth have been investigated in detail. It shows that the strain/stress during electrodeposition is attributed to the highly orientated metallic nanowires. In addition, NiCo, NiCu, CoCu, and FePt wires have also been successfully fabricated. The layer and bamboo structure in NiCo gives the possibility to control the microstructures of nanowires. Moreover, relatively thick FePt films by electrodeposition have been investigated. By doping Ag or using Ag underlayer, out-of plane anisotropy and high coercivity films have been achieved. The relatively thick films have the potential applications for MEMS and recording media.
