CYTOTOXICITY MEDIATED BY L-AMINO ACID OXIDASE ISOLATED FROM THE VENOM OF CROTALUS MITCHELLII PYRRHUS

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This thesis examines the mechanism of cytotoxicity of an L-amino acid oxidase isolated from snake venom in prostate cancer cell line. The enzyme causes oxidative stress, induces ER stress and activates autophagy in the cells in vitro, leading to the activation of apoptosis.
