ESSAYS ON GAME THEORY AND APPLICATIONS

This thesis consists of three chapters on game theory and applications. In the first chapter, we study the "generic" relationship between perfectly and sequentially rational behavior in extensive games. In the second chapter, we investigate the optimal contract for agents in a network and provide a new insight into "pay for performance relationships". We study the impacts of bridges on individual's equilibrium behavior in the third chapter. We construct an index to identify the key bridge players linking up whom will mostly increase social welfare.
