In the study of the teen movies, together with Hong Kong political and cultural environment during the cold war era, I particularly look into the figural formation of middlebrows’presented in the teen movies. This thesis firstly takes a closer look at Lin Feng, an actress from Shaw Brothers, to find out the movie star mechanism of Shaw Brothers.The next chapter pays attention to the youth images presented in the teen movies produced by Shaw Brothers,Cathy and Hong Kong leftist film.
