Abstract
dc:description.abstractAs China expands their economic footprint into the Western Hemisphere, United States (U.S.) leaders must move with caution when evaluating how the People’s Republic of China (PRC’s) presence could be harmless or dangerous towards the U.S.’s own perception by their Latin American neighbors. This thesis evaluates the infrastructure projects that are funded by the PRC in Latin America and determines if those projects are either benign or strategic. There are also recommendations on how U.S. leaders should address these projects so that there may a way to foster new relationships or strengthen existing relationships among Latin American partners.
