The imperative to discern and rectify the root causes of these issues has become paramount to streamline maintenance and optimize resource utilization. This thesis evaluates the role of talent management in maintaining the operational readiness of Assault Bridging Vehicles (ABV) and Joint Assault Bridging Vehicles (JAB) within the Army. ABVs and JABs are vital for maneuver and mobility, facilitating movement across obstacles. The research focuses on the impact of staffing mechanics with Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) D8 that are specifically trained in ABV and JAB maintenance. Using data from the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) and the Army Vantage interface, the study analyzes equipment status, unit organization, and mechanic staffing levels. Data exploration and multiple linear regression analysis reveals statistically significant relationships between mechanic staffing and operational readiness rates. D8 mechanic staffing was found to be statistically significant in enhancing ABV and JAB readiness. The model explains 65.61% of operational readiness variability and was validated through bootstrapping which indicates minimal bias but some sensitivity to dataset composition.
