Speech time expansion and compression
Abstract
dc:description.abstractA new variable analog delay principle is used during playback, of pre-recorded speech, to maintain the original pitch when it is played back at half and at twice original recording speed. Original pitch is maintained in speeded up or slowed down speech by expanding or compressing in time, respectively. A proposed system is described and typical experimental results are provided to illustrate the system performance.
