The study examines the defense acquisition process through the comparison of the acquisition strategies of the programs. An analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the two acquisition strategies and an evaluation of the similarities and differences of the two programs are provided. From this study, lessons learned are identified that can be used by other acquisition managers and their staffs to effectively manage future programs.
