The CIS reduces the time and effort required to locate, ingest and analyze climatic data. The CIS remedies accessibility problems of existing climatologies by using a Data Base Management System (DBMS) to manage on-line data sets. The CIS computer graphics improve data comprehensibility by remapping data to common projections. The CIS design rationale and implementation methodology are documented. The climatic data requirements for TESS are defined. The CIS capabilities are demonstrated with sample data sets which meet some of these requirements.
