An evaluation of the longitudinal dynamic stability of an aircraft at stall.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe longitudinal stability of an aircraft at or near stall was examined using the digital computer as an experimental tool to solve the longitudinal equations of motion. A linear analysis determined the effect of lift curve slope variation. An investigation was made to identify the non-linear lift curve variations needed to create the often observed "rocking-chair" or 'porpoising" stall trait. The characteristics of this limit-cycle oscillation were examined.
