Abstract
dc:description.abstract<p>The work performed on the general problem outlined above is described in this report together with the data from this work. The present research covers but part of the general problem and, obviously, definite conclusions in certain directions will have to await further data. However, it is possible now, from results of the present research, to predict rather carefully the effect of acid and basic catalysts on the formaldehyde resinification reaction with lignite tar distillate. This has an important bearing on the general problem.</p> <p>The experimental data and discussion of this thesis is proceeded by a general review of the more important literature pertaining to this subject.</p>
