Abstract

<p>The lithology of Herman and Campbell beaches of Glacial Lake Agassiz was studied in this report. It was found that the beaches are similar in that the material is 30 to 50 percent by weight over 4 mm. in diameter in both beaches. No shale is present in the sand of Campbell, although there is some in the coarser material. The heavy minerals found in both beaches are: magnetite, ilmenite, biotite, amphibole, tourmaline, and hyalophane.</p>
