Brick is a collection of lineated and prose poetry that explores the role of transfemininity in Western imperial history and imagination. The text engages with themes of sisterhood, trauma, and ideology through the lens of transfeminism as they relate to history, family, and the state. Brick is the search for chosen family and a place of belonging as it narrates the life of and creates dialogue between its principal subject, Dora Richter, the first documented trans woman to receive a vaginoplasty.
