A mixed-methods approach was taken using both qualitative and quantitative data. Surveys were given to math teachers to investigate their perceptions for identifying students to participate in advanced course pathways and enrichment. An analysis of the top-performing 15 percent of students over three years was conducted reviewing multiple assessment measures to identify trends for the top-performing students.
