Advocating for Full-Day Kindergarten: A Policy Advocacy Document
Abstract
dc:description.abstract
This proposed policy advocates for Northwest Suburban School District A to adopt a full-day kindergarten model in all seven of its elementary schools which would potentially impact over 600 kindergarten students on a yearly basis. The adoption of a full-day kindergarten model has been popular in many suburban school districts, and there is ample evidence to substantiate the need for a full-day kindergarten model in Northwest Suburban School District A. With changing demographics, student needs, and evolving parent work patterns, the full-day kindergarten model would positively impact the local school community.
