Analysis of a twin-spherical motor

<p>"This dissertation derives equations representing a twin-spherical motor. Basic ideas and some papers are reviewed, and the analysis begins with the derivation of current density waveforms for each geometry of slots and windings. From these current densities, flux densities are found analytically by the stream function method. Subsequently, the flux density is found numerically by using a finite difference program, provides for the calculation of mutual inductances among phase windings at any position of the rotor. Equations representing these mutual inductances are simplified by neglecting higher order harmonics and from these equations the voltage and torque equation are formed. To illustrate these concepts, a numerical example is given, and several conclusions are discussed concerning characteristics of the motor"--Abstract, page ii.</p>
