Assessment of the triaxial falling head permeability testing technique
Abstract
dc:description.abstract"Extensive permeability testing was conducted to evaluate the different laboratory testing techniques in general use for fine-grained soils. In conjunction with this testing, the parameters which influence the measured coefficient of permeability were varied to evaluate the importance of each parameter on the results obtained from the triaxial falling head permeability test. The conclusions reached in this report indicate that to obtain the coefficient of permeability for the saturated condition, the falling head tests should be performed in a triaxial cell"--Abstract, page ii.
