Physical properties and purification of bile pigments

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

"One of the objects of the present work was to compare various physical properties of some commercially available biliverdins and bilirubins and also their visible, ultraviolet and infrared sorption spectra. Other aims were: to devise satisfactory chromatographic processes for the purification of the commercial bile pigments, to separate the impurities present in these products and examine them by spectroscopic means; and to prepare pure bilirubin for clinical use."
