dc:description.abstractThe reproduction and survivorship of Scapholeberis kingi and Simocephalus serrulatus were studied at 10°, 15°, 20°, and 25°C. Life tables were calculated at all temperatures from survivorship data for each species. Replacement rates of S. kingi and S. serrulatus, respectively, were 0.715 and 2.789 at 10°C, 2.637 and 3.310 at 15°C, 3.332 and 5.133 at 20°C, and 12.469 and 8.936 at 25°C. Intrinsic rates of population increase, obtained by iteration to a stable age structure, for S. kingi and S. serrulatus, respectively, were -0.012 and 0.030 at 10°C, and 0.052 and 0.078 at 15°C, 0.070 and 0.180 at 20°C, and 0.179 and 0.147 at 25°C.
