My purpose for returning to school was to become a better writer. It has been my goal throughout my graduate program to document the process of my work and to compile a selection of poems representative of my development as a writer during those three years. THE GEOGRAPHY OF DAFFODILS is a fulfillment of that goal. The poems are divided into two sections. The first is a collection of poems of place, written about my current home in southwest Missouri and places significant to me, like the Grand Canyon and the Arizona desert, where I was raised.
