Ten Human Resource professionals representing a variety of industries were interviewed, their organizational practices regarding diversity examined, and the outcomes of their efforts assessed. The importance or value that each organization placed on diversity directly influenced the benefits they experienced as a result. The four multicultural organizations experienced greater benefits through employee development, customer satisfaction, and economic growth due to their diversity efforts compared to the monolithic and plural organizations.
