Jungian and Post-Jungian Literary Criticism, 1980-2000

This thesis attempts to update Jos van Meurs' Jungian Literary Criticism 1920-1980 by compiling a bibliography of secondary Jungian and post-Jungian works written between 1980-2000. While van Meurs' bibliography is an invaluable tool for critics interested in Jungian literary criticism, contributions in this field have proliferated during the past twenty years creating a need for an additional resource compiling Jungian and post-Jungian criticism. The narrow focus of this bibliography has not permitted me to include many theoretical works or other works that are not literary criticism or have direct literary applications. The introduction explores the ways in which theorists have been revising and re-visioning Jung's core ideas to suit our changing cultural and social need, while the appendix demonstrates a post-Jungian revision of an essay by Joseph Henderson, one of Jung's key followers.
