Leachate from live fescue, fescue roots, and green fescue leaves did not affect walnut growth. Fescue tops incorporated into the soil in which walnut seedlings were planted reduced top weight, root dry weight, and root to top ratio. Fescue tops reduced pH, increased phosphorus, and did not affect nitrogen in soil water. Fescue did not affect seedlings survival in any experiment.
