To understand the effects of cyclohexylamine on antibody production in rabbits, a group of rabbits was given intraperitoneal injections of cyclohexylamine hydrochloride (CHA-HCL) at a concentration of 50 mg/kg/day. After 70 days of treatment with CHA-HCL, the animals were assayed for total gamma globulin, specific antibodies to bovine serum albumin and sheep red blood cells and total number of individual hemolytic antibody forming cells in the spleen. The results were compared to rabbits which received no CHA-HCL. No difference was found between the two groups in total levels of gamma globulin and specific antibodies to the two different antigens.
