The data was gathered by use of a questionnaire designed by the researcher. Elementary teachers were surveyed to determine their opinions of the effects of school-age child care on achievement, self-esteem, behavior and attitude toward school. The analysis of the data revealed that elementary teachers tended to agree that parental care is more advantageous to the child's academic and social growth.
