Recollections of Miss Virginia: a Memorial Scrapbook of Dr. Virginia Craig (1878-1976)
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis work is a synthesis of memories, articles, interviews and imagined responses about a much-respected and well-loved personage in Southwest Missouri State University's history--Dr. Virginia Judith Craig (1878-1976). Dr. Craig was the head of the English Department from the founding of the university in 1906 until her retirement in 1952. This work is intended to represent a scrapbook and the memories such a collection evokes. Constructed from numerous interviews and questionnaire responses, as well as articles and official records, this script attempts to reconstruct the personality of Dr. Craig.
