Members of the National School Board Association were mailed questionnaires booklets which contained Norton's (1978) Communicator Style Measure and Downs and Hazen's (1977) Communication Satisfaction Index. Results showed significant relationships between all communicator styles but \"animated\" and the seven dimensions of communication satisfaction. A significant difference was also found between male and female board members in their satisfaction with horizontal communication on the school board.
