The RTG-2 cell line grew faster than the gonad primary cultures. The chromosome number of the gonad primary culture was 2n=56 with 104 chromosome arms. The RTG-2 cell line chromosome number ranged from 2n=48 to 2n=59. Giemsa and reverse banding of the chromosomes were unsuccessful.
