In an old bookstore on the Via Ricasoli in Florence, Italy, Thomas discovers an unknown poem of Poppet's, printed in 1924, with a dedication autographed by the author . . . It is there, too, that he meets Martha and begins an odyssey through a maze of contradictions and missteps with tragic results. A literary novel by a budding French author and Proust expert steeped in the stream-of-consciousness style, this work adds a twist. The novel in question, La Rosée, by Prosper Poppet, is the narrator.
