Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis is two thirds of a fantasy novel, The Healer. The novel is about a girl, Winter, who becomes a bridge between various cultures. She leaves the culture of her childhood and becomes completely at home with the native population of the planet on which she lives. In the conclusion of the book, which is summarized at the end, Winter is stolen away to a completely different planet and has to make her way back to her adopted home. A critical introduction to the novel compares the author's work to other fantasy novels and explores its cross-cultural aspects.
