Division is a concept with which many elementary students struggle. The division tool, which is an addition to the pen-based wireless classroom interaction system called Classroom Learning Partner, provides an interactive visual model for the division process. This model leverages students' understanding of the array as a model for multiplication in order to help students develop a strong understanding of division. The tool was tested with students in the Boston area.
