An analysis of techniques implementing virtual load line voltage sense and regulation for automotive USB buck application
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis analyzes three diseparate methods of virtual voltage sense in order to achieve voltage regulation at the end of load line cables without the need for two sense cables. This thesis also explores the implementation of the discussed Current Interrupt Method in order to regulate the output voltage of an automotive USB buck converter as well as the difficulties associated with the implementation. A board-level proof of concept of the implementation is achieved, and then improved through an integrated design tested within a simulation.
