From new towns to eco-towns : transferable lessons in the building of new cities in Great Britain
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis looks to Great Britain for lessons in building New Towns, with an eye towards the nascent Eco-Towns program. Specifically, three areas in urban design are considered: the employment of the neighborhood unit, the attitude towards green space, and transportation strategy and modal shift.
