CAT-SOOP : a tool for automatic collection and assessment of homework exercises
Abstract
dc:description.abstractCAT-SOOP is a tool which allows for automatic collection and assessment of various types of homework exercises. CAT-SOOP is capable of assessing a variety of exercises, including symbolic math and computer programs written in the Python programming language. This thesis describes the design and implementation of the CAT-SOOP system, as well as the methods by which it assesses these various types of exercises. In addition, the implementation of an add-on tool for providing novel forms of feedback about student-submitted computer programs is discussed.
