Diffuse double-layer interaction for nonspherical colloidal particles
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe DLVO theory of colloids is used to consider the stability of clay colloid particles. An approach to colloid physics using classical electrostatic methods is presented. Specifically, the electrical double layer is examined using computational methods. To this end, the Poisson-Boltzman equation is solved numerically for geometries corresponding to interacting clay particles. The interaction energies of double layers is calculated for several particle configurations.
