Daily relationship interventions : an integrative review
Abstract
dc:description.abstract[ACCESS RESTRICTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT AUTHOR'S REQUEST.] For decades scholars have observed the individual and societal costs of relationship instability. Due to these costs, state and federal agencies have invested millions in relationship and marriage education programs (RME) in the hopes of mitigating the negative, and promoting the positive effects associated with healthy relationships. However, a recent review has questioned the plausibility of these interventions (Johnson and Bradbury, 2015). As such, scholars have called for a renewed focus on different approaches to promote stability (Bradbury and Lavner, 2012). This paper reviews low-dosage, self-directed interventions, with a focus towards understanding the mechanisms of stability and contributing to theory.
