This research aims to understand the role of university photographers and the institutional expectations for them to produce diverse photographs, as well as to explore perceived pressures the photographers may feel. Institutional expectations include depicting racial and gender diversity, showing students with a socially constructed preapproved appearance, and the understanding that photographs can be used in a variety of marketing materials without the photographer's approval.
